Instructions for Providing Access to Your WordPress Backend:

  1. Login to Your WordPress Website: Go to your website’s login page (typically located at https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin) and enter your username and password to access the WordPress dashboard.
  2. Navigate to User Management: Once logged in, hover over the “Users” option on the left-hand side menu and click on “Add New” to add a new user.
  3. Fill in User Details: In the “Add New User” screen, fill in the following details:
    • Username: Enter a username for the new user. It’s recommended to use a username that reflects the person or role accessing the website (e.g., “Webmaster”, “Support”).
    • Email: Enter your email address. This will be used for notifications and password reset requests.
    • First Name: Optionally, enter your first name.
    • Last Name: Optionally, enter your last name.
    • Password: Generate a strong password or use the “Show Password” button to set a custom password. Make sure to note down this password for future reference.
    • Role: Select the role for the new user. For granting access to us, please assign the “Administrator” role to ensure full access to the WordPress backend.
  4. Confirm and Add User: Once you’ve filled in the user details, double-check the information to ensure accuracy. Then, click the “Add New User” button to create the new user account.
  5. Notify Us: After adding the new user account, please notify us via email at [your email address] or through our preferred communication channel. Provide us with the username and any relevant details we may need to access the WordPress backend.
  6. Verify Access: We’ll use the credentials provided to log in to your WordPress backend and begin the necessary maintenance and support tasks. Once we’ve confirmed access, we’ll notify you accordingly.

    If all else fails contact your web hosting company and ask them to assist you with providing WP Care Co access to the backend of your website.
